[morels]

Tonight we're firing up the old dehydrator to try and dry some wild gathered morel mushrooms. Tonight for dinner we had some of the morels and they were quite good. You see, I'm nor particularly a fan of mushrooms. Their typical rubbery texture and mushroomy taste just make me frown. However, once i stared reading that morels are one of the best tasting mushrooms available I decided to give tastebuds a lesson in variety.

Tonights dinner actually reminded me a lot of the time that I was forced to eat a mushroom omlette at a Castle in France. The story about my castle retreat will wait for another time. For now we're talking about mushrooms. The mushrooms that I had eaten in France were called Trompette de la Mort. This translates into Trumpet of the Dead, and with a name like that you can probably imagine why I was hesitant to eat something that was found on the floor of the woods. Fortunately they are named this because of their black color and conical shape, not their effect on humans and animals.

Have a Great night and a Better tomorrow.
