[soon to be cornfield]

The following pictures depict the transformation of a fallow field back to a corn or soybean field. Its really too bad that the field couldn't be left to transform back into a woodland. It was definitely headed back to that direction. On the bright side though, if it is being farmed, at least it's not being developed.

[back lane culvert repair]

Today we did some manual repair on the culvert under the back lane that is the main entrance to my house. Since the director was unwilling to spend any money on the project we took it upon ourselves to do the work by hand. We dug out the old culvert the old fashioned way, with hand tools and leverage. We will need some more stone to complete the job properly. We'll also need to spend more time digging out upstream and downstream to make sure our pipes don't get clogged up with dirt. But at least for now, the drove down the back lane will be a little smoother.

[cleaning house]

I now have room in my garage to store two cars and a popup camper. Currently the popup is in the way of the built in work bench, so it will be moved back outside once it has been cleaned and ready for winter storage. I'm beginning to realize now how spoiled I am when it comes to how much covered storage I have. I've still got quite a bit of cleaning to do out there but at least I've made progress, and that makes my wife happy.
