Oatmeal is a healthy and filling way to start the morning. For a while now my weight has been quite a bit more than what I'd like it to be. Recently my pants have been slightly looser due to my forgetfulness to eat during the day. That's not a great way to do things though, because at the end of the day I have the desire to fill myself with food that may be ok in moderation, but I end up just eating more than I need to.
One of my employees has gotten into eating primal. She eats meat, greens, berries, etc... That our early ancestors would have found by gathering and hunting. I guess the idea is to be removed from the foods that have extra salt and sugar added along with all the extra processing.
That got me thinking about my morning routine, and how I normally just go to work on an empty stomach. In just the last three days I've found that by eating a good and natural breakfast, I'm not nearly as prone to eating other stuff to fill myself, and I feel more energetic. I think that my oatmeal breakfast also gives me enough variety that I won't get tired of it, but also enough structure so I don't have to decide what I'm eating in the morning. It's been decided for me already. I'm having oatmeal.
